A zero is a claim about the world
Every number rouu displays is measured. There is no sample dataset: rows come from the ad platform's ad-level insights and the store's admin API, and are kept on disk at the grain they arrived in.
An empty panel names its source
A panel with nothing to show says which source it is waiting on rather than drawing a zero. A figure with no denominator yet renders as an em dash, because zero is a claim about the world, and nothing has been measured yet.
It starts with no credentials
Nothing is read from the environment at start-up. Each credential is read at request time, inside the route that needs it, from the file Settings → Connections writes the first time it is used. A fresh install serves every page and shows which source each one is waiting on; connect one and that page starts answering.
An operator setting rouu up for someone else can pin a value instead, and Connections then shows that field as locked rather than accepting an edit it would ignore.
